Where London heritage meets modern student life

Highlights:

  • The project will deliver 397 student beds, supporting the growing demand for student accommodation in the capital
  • Previously recognised as Grove Crescent, launched to market as Venti House
  • With a distinctive design identity, Venti House blends heritage and modern styles to create a culturally rich and welcoming home for students.

Watkin Jones, the UK’s leading developer and manager of residential for rent, has launched the branding for its scheme in Stratford.

Venti House will be a new purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) scheme offering excellent ESG credentials. The development is being funded through a Joint Venture between HGP and Watkin Jones and will be available for letting for the 2026/27 academic year.

Venti House will provide 397 student units in a prime location in one of London’s key PBSA submarkets, with excellent access to London’s leading universities, including UCL East, London College of Fashion, Birkbeck, and the University of East London’s Stratford campus, alongside strong connectivity along the Elizabeth Line. Venti House will help to address the growing demand for high-quality student homes in the capital.

Fresh with their extensive student marketing experience were appointed to lead on the brand development for the project, and drawing inspiration from a blend of Victorian, industrial, oriental and modern design styles, the Venti House brand fuses old and new. By weaving elements of British heritage into a culturally rich, contemporary interior concept, the development offers a unique living experience to resonate strongly with students discovering life in London. The thoughtful design approach also creates a distinctive visual identity, in addition to ensuring that Venti House becomes a welcoming, engaging and aspirational home for students from around the world. The development will include high-spec studios, cluster flats, and amenity spaces that are focused on studying, wellbeing, and community.

Venti House demonstrates Watkin Jones’ market leading approach to sustainable development, placemaking and long-term operational excellence. The delivery of the development will coincide with a reduction in supply of new-build PBSA, and will offer a high-quality product to meet the ongoing demand within the City.

George Dyer, Group Investment Director at Watkin Jones, commented:

“Venti House reflects our commitment to delivering thoughtfully designed, experience-led purpose-built student accommodation in key UK markets. The brand and interiors draw on London’s rich history and diverse culture to offer students something that feels both premium and personal. With construction well progressed, we’re excited to see Venti House launch next year and offer a great home for students studying in Stratford.”
