Watkin Jones, the UK's leading developer and manager of residential for rent homes, is pleased to announce that the ‘topping out’ of the Group’s Build to Rent scheme at Ravensbourne Place in Lewisham, South East London took place recently.

This commemorative event signals that the concrete framework is now complete and was a very proud moment for everyone involved, including clients, subcontractors, and local councillors.  The ‘topping out’ was marked by layering the last remaining cement at the top of the building.

The site is being forward funded by L&G Retirement, representing the Group’s second transaction with them.  Additionally, CBRE GI have acquired an affordable housing block on a forward commitment basis located on the site.

This development is an important part of the regeneration in the Lewisham area.  Upon completion, the 36-floor scheme will be home to 365 high-quality one, two and three-bedroom apartments for rent.  The scheme will also include a gym, co-working space, shared amenity in addition to a roof top sky deck, which will be accessible by local residents and that will offer views over the capital.  The site works also include the re-naturalisation of the river Ravensbourne and attractive landscaping.  Being situated next to the train station, means that this location also offers residents convenient and easy access to the city.
